Chillaxin' With Mr. Giddy
Way back in high school, in the late 90s, my friends and I would assemble in a basement or room somewhere, hook up the PlayStation, and insert a music CD with the TV turned on. It is no longer a feature on game consoles (a shame, in my humble opinion). Music visualizers provided a great atmospheric option in tandem with the music itself, and man - we loved it.
Most of the music I collected on CD at the time was ambient techno from artists like The Orbital, Underworld, or The Sneaker Pimps. The music and visualizers provided an apt backdrop to our night-spanning conversations and are the most missed feature of my teen years.
This playlist contains tunes I enjoy using with the visualizer, which is still built into Apple Music and iTunes. While not the same as the ones we used with the PlayStation back in the day, or even with SoundJam MP or WinAMP, they're still interesting visuals to fill the space when thinking.
Type ? with the visualizer active to see a special menu in the upper left for a list of key commands you can use to manipulate the visuals.
