This Peaches & Ginger black tea is one of the earliest loose teas I ever bought. It came recommended by a coworker at the time, and after-all… how could you go wrong with peaches, or ginger!

The leaves for this tea are clearly broken. Their length approaches 1/16th an inch and has some stems in. I wouldn’t say it detracts from the tea much though. The dry leaf aroma is very enticing. I can clearly smell the peach, the ginger scent and some hints of sweeter stone fruits such as nectarines.

The liquor brews to a dark amber, almost a coffee brown. The steeped aroma turns lighter and less fragrant.

Flavor-wise, this tea is very strong. While it doesn’t dry the palate at all, this tea is very astringent, causing a clear pucker almost instantly. The first flavor  I caught was peach. However, the ginger comes through very clearly and the peach seems to take a back seat the longer you get from the start of your sip to the finish.

I did take the opportunity to put this one on ice as well. It’s fantastic iced as the astringency is notably lessened. Adding sugar for a peach sweet tea or even to soften the tea when brewed hot is a great move.

I recommend this tea for drinkers of breakfast teas, Earl Grey teas, and anyone who likes a nice peachy black iced tea.
