When I was first introduced to Meghan Mercier of The Loose Leaf she was positioned to me as an herbalist. Boy howdy is she! Her talent for creating custom targeted herbal beverage blends is amazing!
This complex blend of green tea, echinacea, yarrow, olive leaf, ginger, astragalus, nettle leaf, feverfew, hibiscus and colendula presents itself as an eye popping cornucopia of colorful fluffy leaves with some stems in, and provides a very dark almost grape-red liquor (color).
The aroma has a lot going on but mostly the aromas of the nettle leaf, yarrow flowers, ginger and colendula are your omnipresent scents.
There are hints of the other ingredients, but they’re hard to get at without concentrating. I usually find that a detractor, but in this tea’s case, it was oddly enticing.
This Immunitea blend dries the mouth. The combination of nettle leaf (Urtica Diotica) and yarrow flower seem to provide a deliciously savory yet musky flavor to this tea.
While this blend has a rather long tail, it fades in intensity as you go along.
I recommend this tea to anyone feeling a cold coming on, and would pair it with white fish or chicken if sipping with a meal.
